Makenna, a creative, empathetic, and inspired woman with a passion for all things TCM, energetic healing, nature, magic, music, and art, has a dream. She grew up surrounded by fierce love and support in my household. It is the kind of love that isn't afraid to call you out on your shit, and that will walk with you as you tame your demons, fully supporting you in love, grace, and sincerity. This is the kind of energy she is bringing to her practice. One that is authentic, which helps her clients access their own authenticity and inner truth, shed that which is no longer serving their highest good, and call in transformational healing to restore balance and harmony within.
Meet the Practitioner
Graduated from the Grant Macewan Acupuncture program, Makenna comes from a background in earth-based living, spiritual exploration, and embodied wellness. She holds space for transformational healing that honours the whole self: body, mind, and spirit. Her sessions invite clients to slow down, reconnect, and access the inner wisdom within them that is innately theirs, and which already knows how to heal.
She considers herself a life time student who is constantly seeking a deeper understanding of the world and all its wonders. It is her intention to continue expanding her tool belt of healing modalities so that she can curate a unique blend of medicine that works with clients, wherever they are in their journey.
Outside the clinic, you can find her immersed in arts of all kinds, writing, sketching, playing instruments, and singing in choir with her sister. She also enjoys being outside exploring nature (anywhere by a river, lake, or ocean is her favourite), cozying up with a good book, and spending time with her parents Bernese mountain dogs, Odin and Ayla.
Areas she is especially fascinated by include mental health, nervous system regulation, women's health, cosmetic acupuncture, and energy work. Makenna is there to guide you to a place of calm, balance and serenity, no matter where you’ve come from or where you are in your journey. She is committed to adressing the root cause of physical symptoms while simultaneously balancing that of the mind and spirit.
"I believe that my purpose is rooted in guiding people home to who they are through compassion, authentic presence, and gentle touch. My work invites each person to come home to themselves, awakening the innate wisdom within the body that already knows how to heal. I believe that anything is possible when we attune to the wisdom within - balance, harmony, and deep restoration become not just ideas, but lived experiences."
Her vision
"My dream is to one day be travelling the world guiding people in remembrance of who they are, cultivating harmony within, hosting personal retreats, and sharing my unique medicine with beautiful souls all over the world. I want to create a space where people feel safe, seen, and called to express themselves in their real and raw essence. I want to walk with people as they journey through remembrance, unleashing and releasing that which is holding them back from experiencing the life that they truly desire, and cultivating more joy through the embodiment of their unique truth. This is medicine I needed in my life, and now I get to be the one who shares it.
My own journey has been one of consistent opportunities to come back home to my spirit, vanquishing all that no longer serves me, and walking forward in the wisdom of my past experiences. I am really only at the beginning, which I remind myself often when the story that I am running out of time pops in. In truth, each step of the journey has been exactly what's needed. I have never not succeeded in surviving my darkest days, and there is always immense love and support available within and without to tap into. I will carry that truth with me as I support people on their own journeys."
